A leading global hedge fund is seeking a Compliance Officer with 6+ years in the HF/Financial space to join its Zurich-based team, supporting a fast-paced, multi-asset trading environment.
This role is offering a 160,000 - 200,000CHF salary bracket and is a front-office 'problem solving' role with direct interaction with investment and trading teams.
You will play a key role in monitoring and testing controls across the business, conducting thematic reviews, and providing practical, real-time compliance advisory on trading activity and market conduct!
Responsibilities
- Lead Compliance Monitoring Programme, run targeted reviews, and partner closely with traders, quants, and senior stakeholders to ensure strategies operate within regulatory boundaries—without slowing the business down.
- Conduct targeted and thematic reviews, identifying gaps and supporting remediation of control weaknesses.
- Partner with investment and trading teams to provide day-to-day compliance advisory across trading activity and market conduct.
- Provide clear, practical guidance on regulatory requirements and support the implementation of regulatory change.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Law, Finance, Economics or similar); professional compliance qualifications (e.g. ICA, CISI or equivalent) are advantageous.
- 6+ years’ compliance experience within a hedge fund, asset manager, or investment bank.
Required Skills
- Demonstrable experience in monitoring and testing controls within a Compliance Monitoring Programme (e.g. MiFID or equivalent)
- Experience providing compliance advisory support to business or trading teams.
- Good understanding of investment and trading-related regulations (e.g. MiFID or equivalent frameworks such as FinSA/FINMA requirements).
- Strong personable communication skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with a range of stakeholders.
- Product specialist; which could be crypto, or commodities for example
Preferred Skills
- Professional compliance qualifications (e.g ICA, CISI or equivalent) are advantageous.
