JOB SUMMARY
To assist Head of Section to plan, coordinate, develop & review Water Safety Plan (WSP) to ensure the document is updated and adequate covering all risk to safeguard delivery of safe drinking water to consumer guided by WSP Manual by World Health Organization (WHO) & International Water Association (IWA) and SPAN WSP Guidelines.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan for development/review of WSP for WTPs operated/managed by Air Selangor from catchment to consumer in accordance with necessary Act, Standards, Guidelines and/or requirement and ensure relevancy, accuracy and compliance.
- Liaise with the respective Section/Department and external agencies for necessary information gathering, field investigation/survey, analysis, verification until completion of work following the 11 Modules step-by-step as required by SPAN.
- Describe & validate process flow, identify and assess risk using semi-quantitative approach comprising estimation of likelihood & severity to systematically measure all potential hazardous event and associated hazards, determine & validate control measures and prioritize risks in consultation with the respective Section/Department.
- Ensure the scope of WSP to cover all risks that could affect the safety and security of water supply which include water quality, climate change, alternative water sources, reliability of power supply, etc.
- Inspect operational & verification monitoring put in place in the water supply system.
- Participate in the audit/assessment conducted internally or externally and conduct follow up on matters arising including feedback on rectification works by the related Department.
- Highlight to Head of Section on the outcome of assessment especially location/process step identified with medium, high and very high risk for quality improvement opportunities, upgrade plan actions and accountabilities.
- Prepare standard operating procedures and supporting programmes in relation to water safety plan & audit activities as and when necessary.
- To enhance awareness and importance of WSP by preparing training materials and conducting training for the staff.
- Ensure keep up to date with revisions of WSP Guidelines and WSP Manual by relevant authorities.
- Review integrity of water supply system from source to tap to ensure safety and security of drinking water supply to consumer through participation in sanitary survey organized by PKD and prepare report for submission to management.
- Perform all other essential duties and responsibilities as assigned, maintaining high levels of accuracy, maintaining a professional demeanor and appropriate levels of confidentiality, and providing excellent customer service.

Minimum Qualifications
- Min. Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or any Science discipline
- Preferably with min. 1 years of working experience in the field of water treatment process and water testing
