The Chief Markets Officer is responsible for leading the bank's global markets business, including trading, sales, structuring, and market risk activities across asset classes. The role focuses on driving revenue growth, managing market risks, and delivering innovative financial solutions to institutional and corporate clients. The CMO ensures strong governance, regulatory compliance, and alignment with the bank's overall strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Markets Strategy & Business Growth
- Develop and execute the overall markets strategy across asset classes (FX, fixed income, equities, derivatives, commodities).
- Drive revenue growth through trading, sales, and client solutions.
- Identify new market opportunities, products, and client segments.
2. Trading & Sales Oversight
- Oversee trading desks and ensure efficient execution and profitability.
- Lead markets sales teams to deliver tailored solutions to clients.
- Enhance collaboration between trading, sales, and structuring teams.

- Supervise structuring of complex financial products and solutions.

- Support client acquisition and retention through market insights and solutions.
- Represent the bank in client engagements and industry forums.
6. Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
- Ensure all markets activities comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Coordinate with compliance, risk, and audit teams.
- Maintain strong governance and control frameworks.
7. Technology & Digital Transformation
- Oversee trading platforms, analytics tools, and market systems.
- Drive adoption of electronic trading and automation.
- Collaborate with IT to enhance system capabilities and efficiency.
8. Reporting & Performance Management
- Monitor trading performance, revenue, and risk metrics.
- Provide regular reports and strategic insights to executive leadership.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field; MBA, CFA, or equivalent preferred.
- 12–15+ years of experience in global markets, trading, or capital markets roles, with significant leadership experience.
- Proven track record in managing trading and markets businesses.
- Deep understanding of financial instruments, derivatives, and market dynamics.
