Product Strategy & Payment Ecosystem
- Define and drive the product vision and roadmap for payment gateway and processing solutions.
- Design and enhance core payment capabilities (routing, retry logic, tokenization, recurring billing, 3DS, etc.).
- Lead integration strategy with banks, acquirers, card schemes, and wallets.
- Ensure scalable and resilient payment architecture aligned with business growth.
Integration & API Product Management
- Own API product design (documentation, versioning, developer experience).
- Manage full integration lifecycle (sandbox → production → optimization).
- Reduce partner onboarding time and improve integration success rates.
- Ensure smooth connectivity with merchants and third-party partners.
Agile Delivery & Product Ownership
- Act as Product Owner for payment squads.
- Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, and agile ceremonies.
- Translate business needs into clear user stories with acceptance criteria.
- Manage sprint capacity, delivery timelines, and technical dependencies.
- Remove blockers to maintain development velocity.
Stakeholder Management & Business Alignment
- Lead business walkthroughs and product demos for stakeholders.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear business language.
- Align with commercial, operations, risk, compliance, and leadership teams.
- Support sales and product marketing in merchant-facing solutions.
Leadership & Cross-functional Collaboration
- Lead and mentor product team members.
- Drive agile best practices and product ownership culture.
- Collaborate with engineering, compliance, and operations teams.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory and security standards (CBE, PCI-DSS) .
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 7–10 years in Product Management (Fin-tech/Payments).
- Minimum 4 years in payment gateways or acquiring platforms.
- Strong understanding of:
Payment flows & gateway architecture.
APIs (REST/GraphQL), webhooks, integrations.
ISO 8583, 3DS, tokenization.
- Experience with acquirers and PSP integrations.
- Hands-on experience with Agile tools (Jira, Asana, etc.).
- Strong technical understanding with ability to work closely with engineering.
- Knowledge of PCI-DSS and regulatory frameworks.
