About the Company
Our client is a regulated cryptocurrency exchange operating in Luxembourg under the supervision of the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF). The firm provides digital asset trading and custody services to retail and institutional clients across Europe and is committed to the highest standards of regulatory compliance, governance, and risk management.
Role Overview
The Senior Compliance Officer will play a key role in ensuring the company maintains full compliance with Luxembourg and EU regulatory requirements applicable to Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs). Reporting to the Conducting Officer / Head of Compliance, the successful candidate will oversee day-to-day compliance operations, regulatory reporting, advisory support to the business, and interaction with the CSSF.
This position is suited to an experienced compliance professional with prior crypto or fintech exposure who is comfortable operating in a fast-evolving regulatory environment.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance & Advisory
- Ensure ongoing compliance with Luxembourg AML/CFT laws, MiCA framework requirements, and applicable EU regulations.
- Advise senior management and business teams on regulatory implications of new products, token listings, staking services, and cross-border activities.
- Monitor regulatory developments and assess impact on the business.
AML/CFT Oversight
- Oversee AML/KYC framework, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and suspicious activity reporting.
- Act as key point of contact for the MLRO where required.
- Ensure compliance with Luxembourg AML Law and CSSF circulars.
Policies & Controls
- Draft, review, and update compliance policies and procedures.
- Conduct compliance risk assessments and monitoring plans.
- Lead internal compliance reviews and thematic controls.
Regulatory Reporting & Relationship Management
- Manage regulatory filings and reporting obligations to the CSSF.
- Support regulatory inspections, audits, and onsite visits.
- Maintain professional and constructive relationships with regulators.
Training & Governance
- Deliver compliance training across the organisation.
- Support Board reporting and preparation of compliance reports.
- Contribute to strengthening governance and internal control frameworks.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 5–7 years’ experience in Compliance, ideally within a crypto exchange, fintech, payment institution, or investment firm.
- Strong knowledge of Luxembourg regulatory framework and CSSF expectations.
- Experience with AML/CFT obligations applicable to Virtual Asset Service Providers.
- Familiarity with MiCA and broader EU digital asset regulation.
- Experience interacting directly with regulators.
- University degree in Law, Finance, Economics, or related discipline.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CAMS) considered an advantage.
- Fluent in English; French or German is a plus.
