The Role The Compliance Director for Brazil plays a key role in building and scaling KAST. This is a high-ownership position where you ll take responsibility for meaningful work from day one, collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, and help turn ambitious goals into real-world outcomes. What You ll Be Doing Support legal department with the authorization process for the VASP license. Act as the designated Director of Compliance (Diretor de Conformidade) as required, taking personal responsibility for the effectiveness of the AML/CFT policy. Act as the primary point of contact for the regulator. Adapt the global compliance manual to meet specific Brazilian requirements, including CNPJ/CPF validation and local PEP (Politically Exposed Persons) lists. Oversee the communication of suspicious transactions with the local system. Implement the Three Lines of Defense model tailored to the Brazilian crypto-asset market. Review high-risk Brazil-specific tickets (KYC/KYB) processed by the Global Ops team to ensure they meet local Know Your Customer standards. Manage relationships with local Bancarização partners and payment gateways (PIX providers). Lead the mandatory annual independent audits required by Brazilian financial regulations. What You ll Bring 6+ years experience in Compliance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within a Brazilian financial institution.
